Legendary point guard who introduced a new blend of ball handling, and led the NBA in assists 8 straight seasons. He won six NBA Championships with the Boston Celtics from 1957 to 1963 while playing alongside the great Bill Russell. He was the first President of the NBA.
During his freshman year at Andrew Jackson High School, he was cut from the basketball team; he late became a star for the team and went on to play college basketball at Holy Cross from 1946 to 1950.
He was selected to 13 consecutive All-Star games from 1951 to 1963 and in 1957, he was named NBA MVP.
He had two daughters with his wife, Missie Agnes Ritterbusch.
Under Cousy and Bill Russell, the Celtics put together one of the most dominant runs in NBA history.
