Former running back in the NFL who earned his first opportunity to be a NFL head coach with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2017. In 2016, he was the interim head coach of the Buffalo Bills following the firing of Rex Ryan. He won 2 Super Bowl rings as a running back on the Denver Broncos roster in 1998 and 1999.
He was an All-Southwest Conference running back for the Texas Tech Red Raiders where he played from 1988 to 1991. Over the course of his NFL career, he played for the Broncos and 49ers.
Between 2000 and 2017 when he earned his head coaching gig with the Chargers, he served as a special teams assistant, running backs coach and assistant head coach between 6 different teams.
He and his ex-wife Cynda have children together named D'Anton and Danielle. He married Stacey Bell in 2011.
During his time as a special teams assistant with the Broncos, he would work under the tutelage of head coach Mike Shanahan.
