Notable for her black-thread-woven, self-portrait-filled photomontages and for her video art installations, this German feminist Artist is perhaps most famous for her works Selbst (Self); Being Pregnant; and Generativ.
Before launching her career as a visual Artist, she trained at Hamburg's and Vienna's Academies of Fine Arts.
From 2013 to 2015, her work was featured in a touring art exhibition called "WOMAN: Feminist Avant-Garde of the 1970s."
She spent her youth in Lüneburg, Germany, and later lived and worked in several German and Italian cities. In the early 1970s, she married fellow Artist Baldur Greiner; the couple subsequently welcomed two children.
