Socially-minded activist who's dedicated her life and career to helping those less fortunate and advocating for Brazilian interests on the worldwide stage. She's been president of the League of Women Voters in Brazil and has also volunteered as Secretary General of ANUBRA, a non-governmental organization that works to strengthen collaboration between Brazilians and the United Nations.
She was raised on a farm until she was 15 years old.
She's run for office in Brazil, and in 1994 came 40,000 votes shy of becoming the State Deputy for the Democratic party in 1994.
She married Swedish businessman Johan Eliasch, but the two separated due to her desire to take part in Brazilian politics and base her life there. She also has three brothers.
