Leader of the campaign for Women's Suffrage during the early 20th century. Her work directly lead to the passing of Nineteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution which granted women the right to vote.
She met the founder of the Suffrage Movement in England when she was there and participated in radical protests such as hunger strikes.
She founded the Congressional Union for Woman Suffrage which eventually merged with the National Woman's Party under her leadership.
She was the daughter of of william Mickle Paul and Tacie Parry Paul, and sister of william Jr., Parry, and Helen.
She campaigned against President Woodrow Wilson's refusal to support the amendment for suffrage.
