Actor, screenwriter and producer who is the co-founder and owner of Phil-lit Productions, a production company focused on creating local, Kenyan content. They have created hit shows such as Real Househelps of Kawangware and Sue na Jonnie. He first garnered national attention for his role as Freddie on Tahidi High, a high-school drama show which he went on to write for.
He graduated from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication in 2005 with a film production degree majoring in camera technique. He then undertook an internship at Citizen TV in 2007.
He was a writer and cast member on the show Hapa Kule News. It was the first time he worked with now-business partner Philip Karanja.
He and his wife Judy married in 2014, but have been together since college. They have a daughter, Stephanie Mumbua, born 2010. He has six siblings.
